22nd Aug. – 5th Sep. – Two Week Ashtanga Immersion with Deepika Mehta, Mumbai

In this two-week intensive,Deepika will help you deepen your Ashtanga practice or start one.
There will be 10 sessions of the Ashtanga practice with a choice of led and Mysore style self-practice and four weekend workshops.

The led classes will focus on developing strength and flexibility with correct Vinyasa,alignment and breathing, while flowing through the series of postures.

The Self practice classes will help you develop your own daily Ashtanga practice,where we will work one-on-one with individuals to get them to progress at their own pace and according to the needs to their body and health, and ultimately the self-confidence to continue practicing at home.

In the Weekend workshops there will be a focus on developing deep core strength,flexibility and exploring universal movement patterns. These will be fun and interactive classes with plenty of partner work, demonstrations and the opportunity for inquiry. These workshops will include time for deep relaxation, breath work and meditation.

Saturday: 22nd Aug
Arts in Motion:Developing Strength through the Practice of Yoga
Learn essential tools and techniques for developing deep core strength. The core is more than just the abdominal muscles that you see in the mirror. In this class you will learn what it really takes to have a strong core.

Sunday:Harnessing the Warrior within
(Anahata Studio) 23rd August
Take strength to the next level by incorporating the techniques learnt in Saturday’s class, and connect the core to the upper and lower limbs; to create true, functional strength, and harness the power of the warrior within. There will be an exploration of the fundamental arm balances and inversions.

Saturday:29th August
Arts in Motion:Opening up for splits and deep backbends

Explore the most effective and safest ways to approach the splits and the essential alignment principles needed to deepen and cultivate ️beautiful backbends.

Sunday: 30th August
Exploring the full potential of strength and flexibility through Ashtanga Yoga

This class will bring everything together; strength,flexibility, alignment, technique, vinyasa, breath and concentration to experience the essence of the Ashtanga Vinyasa practice as a moving meditation. This will be a dynamic, flowing class that will culminate in a deep release of tension, and the presence of stillness and peace.
